The Alan Stalcup Scholarship is proud to recognize Lauren Forney, a post-baccalaureate pre-medical student at Agnes Scott College, as one of its newest scholarship recipients.
Lauren’s dream of becoming a physician began when she was just four years old, running around her home in “Doctor in Training” scrubs. Today, she is turning that childhood dream into reality through rigorous science coursework, research, volunteer experience, and preparation for medical school.
Her goal is to become a compassionate physician who not only provides exceptional care but also helps patients better understand their health, particularly in communities where access to quality healthcare and information may be limited.
For Lauren, receiving the Alan Stalcup Scholarship means more than financial support. She describes the scholarship community as becoming “part of my village” as she continues her journey toward becoming a physician.
